Atlanta City Council Proclamation in Honor of the World Mission Society Church of God
Whereas, the World Mission Society Church of God was founded by Ahnsahnghong in 1964. Since its beginning, the Church of God has been a movement, a moving church with a mission of ministry to the world; and,
Whereas, the Church of God includes pastors, elders, missionaries, and leaders who have compassionate hearts and leadership skills which combine for effective ministry;
Whereas, the Church of God is making every effort to preach the New Covenant in order to deliver the message of eternal life to the world and has achieved amazing results within a half of a century by establishing 2,200 churches in 150 countries throughout the world; and,
Whereas, the Church of God has 1.7 million members who include some of the most respective leaders from around the world; and,
Whereas, the Church of God offers many volunteer services that contain the Love of God the Mother. They have made contributions to society through blood drives, clean world movements and donations to victims of earthquakes throughout the world; the city of Atlanta was able to witness their services as they donated their time to collect 3,642 bags of trash along with 115 tires from Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in efforts to raise awareness to the effects that pollution has on global warming.
Now, therefore, we, the members of the Atlanta City Council, and on behalf of the citizens of Atlanta, hereby recognize the World Mission Society Church of God on the 4th day of June 2012.
